Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving, an annual occasion where local owners and operators donate all of their resources and every dollar that comes in – not just profit – to neighborhood charities, celebrates its 13th anniversary this year.
Background and History of Jersey Mike’s \sJersey Peter Cancro, who started working at the original Point Pleasant, New Jersey location when he was 14 years old, founded Mike’s Subs. When he was 17 years old, the second owner of the business decided to sell, and Cancro used assistance from one of his high school teachers to purchase the business. The chain of sub restaurants has expanded significantly since then, and the business is dedicated to supporting the neighborhood.
The Giving Day
Jersey In support of local charities in their respective markets, local business owners and operators across the country participate in Mike’s Day of Giving on March 29. The national sub sandwich chain expects to raise $20 million for charity.
Local Nonprofits Gain
Jersey On March 29, all of Mike’s Subs’ sales will be donated in full to regional charities. Local charities like the New Jersey Make-A-Wish and Eva’s Heroes, which aims to improve the lives of people with intellectual special needs ages 14 and older, will receive 100% of the proceeds.

More than 67 million dollars have been raised for charities all over the country through Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving since 2011. The sub shop is dedicated to improving people’s lives and supporting the communities it serves.
